MARKET UPDATE 07.11.25

Good afternoon,

BLUEBERRY production is beginning in the Pacific Northwest! We are expecting to see great supplies and pricing for the next several weeks with Michigan, New Jersey, and British Columbia all in BLUEBERRY SEASON.

CALIFORNIA PEARS are now available! BOSC, RED, and BARTLETT PEARS are just starting on the west coast. Timing could not be better as import supplies sling up and down like a yo-yo. This week, we will have a full line of fresh new crop California PEARS available.

While GRAPE availability remains a hot topic of discussion, we are beginning to see increased sizing out of California. SJV (San Joaquin Valley) fruit is finally being boxed and is ready to ship. The SJV fruit is a major step forward towards better quality and availability ahead.

We are starting to see better availability on California Veg! CAULIFLOWER supplies are on the rise this week easing market pressure resulting in a significant drop in price!

GREEN BELL PEPPER, ZUCCHINI, and YELLOW SQUASH, remain in a very difficult spot as we sift through production gaps on our way up north. Growers had to hit the rest button late this past spring thanks to tornadoes and stormy weather that wiped out early plantings. Quality and availability have been hard to come by, but we are just now starting to see the light on the otherside of the tunnel. Production is few and far between, but we expect to see ZUKES and YELLOW SQUASH out of MI available this week. Product will remain tight but quality will certainly improve.

GREEN BELL PEPPER will be a bit further behind schedule than squash unfortunately. Pricing has continued to increase over the last few weeks, showing just how short supplies are. As of now, we will have to find spot deals out of smaller acreage farms for the next few weeks until northeastern production comes available in early August.

BRUSSELS SPROUTS are expected to remain tight for the next several weeks. Southern Caifornia production is slowing down while we are still some time away from substantial volume on northern sprouts.

CHERRIES remain in good form and we continue to see the best pricing we have seen in years! Pair them with some beautiful California PLUMS or PEACHES to satisfy those summer shoppers.

More as it happens,

Parker Tannehill
