MARKET UPDATE 05.08.26

Good afternoon,

Florida TOMATO availability has increased this week! ROUND and ROMA tomatoes saw the biggest increase in supplies, leading to better market pricing. CHERRY and GRAPE TOMATOES are also on the way down in price.

California crops like CAULIFLOWER and BROCCOLI are beginning to show signs of relief! While markets remain high, there is more product available in Salinas this week compared to last. We are in the third week of what many growers were telling us was a three to four week gap of supply. LETTUCE and ROMAINE supplies should follow a few weeks behind the positive trend in the cauliflower and broccoli markets but are still experiencing some difficulties.

ASPARAGUS supplies remain tight but look to stabilize into next week. Improvements out of both Peru, Mexico, and even domestic supplies are on the way. Look for some post Mother's Day relief in the ASPARAGUS market.

CHERRY pricing has dropped out of California as the rains have let up as more shippers have availability. We have another few weeks out of California as Washington fruit looks to start up around the second week of June.

Speaking of STONE FRUIT, California PEACHES, PLUMS, NECTARINES, and APRICOTS are available! We are early in the season so fruit may be firm but fresh.

We are getting our first taste of Mexican MELONS next week! Imports remain available here in south Florida and the range of availability is keeping market pricing lower.

Happy Mother's Day!
