MARKET UPDATE 01.23.26

GRAPE markets continue to adjust LOWER as Chilean supplies become available. Look for continued downward pressure on GRAPE prices over the next few weeks.

GREEN ONION supplies have improved but markets remain tight. Heavy rains in Mexico continue to thwart production resulting in a demand exceeds market for the last several weeks. The tides may turn though, as reports indicate steady improvement ahead and some pricing relief this week!

ICEBERG LETTUCE markets are expected to be elevated for the next few weeks. After several weeks of an abundance of supplies, overproduction has finally caught up. Several shippers out of Arizona are running into a supply gap expected to last 2-3 weeks.

Imported PEACHES, PLUMS, and NECTARINES are seeing better availability and pricing this week. We are now a few weeks into the import season and the increase in arrivals has helped bring down market pricing. Flavor and quality are also be improved now that the fruit has had some more time to mature.

Cold and even frozen conditions in Florida this week brought on some difficulty in a few different markets.

ZUCCHINI, was near non-existent for a day or so this week thanks to icy conditions. EGGPLANT and other items that do not fair well in the cold also have run short this week.

STRAWBERRIES saw perhaps the most drastic change this week, moving from excess supply and bottomed out prices one day to growers skipping harvest the next. Warmer conditions are forecasted for the next few weeks so we expect to see great supplies of STRAWBERRIES for VALENTINES DAY!

More as it happens,
